Sovereignty
Everything is run in Switzerland. Here is what that means, point by point.
Sovereignty is not declared, it is demonstrated: by where each processing takes place, by the name of each provider, and by stating the limits of the law honestly.
Where your data goes
The path of your data, from your desk to support
Every node is in Switzerland. Providers are named in the contract, and the list below is kept current.
Encrypted in transit from the browser.
Encrypted link, terminated in Switzerland.
Contivaro runs on infrastructure located in Switzerland.
Copy out of reach, another site, same country.
Identified people, during business hours.
Saviano Sàrl, entered in the Geneva commercial register, invoices in francs, contracts under Swiss law, jurisdiction in Geneva.
Hosting, backups and logs in data centres located in Switzerland, with named providers.
Where client-side encryption applies, the service is designed so that we technically cannot read your sensitive data. A lost key is lost content: recovery keys stay with you.
Your data is never used to train a model. AI models are called at providers that process in Switzerland, or hosted by us.
Compared with the usual alternatives
Without disparaging anyone: the facts, on six criteria a buyer checks.
| Criterion | Large international provider | Standard Swiss host | Contivaro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company seat | Outside Switzerland | Switzerland | Switzerland, Geneva |
| Data location | Region of choice, replication possible elsewhere | Switzerland | Switzerland, named provider |
| Support location | Global centres | Switzerland, often | Switzerland, identified people |
| Governing law | Often foreign | Swiss | Swiss, jurisdiction Geneva |
| Published subprocessors | Long and moving list | Rarely | Yes, with review date |
| Client-side encryption | Optional, per service | Rarely | Where it applies, keys with you |
Subprocessors and processing locations
Target architecture. Providers marked “planned” are confirmed in the contract, never before.
| Role | Provider | Location | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website hosting | Infomaniak Network SA | Geneva | In service |
| Platform hosting | Infomaniak or Exoscale | Geneva or Zurich | Planned, confirmed in contract |
| Backup storage | Infomaniak Swiss Backup or Exoscale | Switzerland, another site | Planned, confirmed in contract |
| AI models | Infomaniak AI API or self-hosted models | Switzerland | Planned, confirmed in contract |
| Email and support | Infomaniak kSuite | Geneva | In service |
What Swiss sovereignty does not mean
A Swiss company remains subject to Swiss law: the law can require a provider to hand over data it holds. A foreign authority goes through mutual legal assistance, examined by the Swiss authorities, who reject exploratory requests but cooperate when the conditions are met. The EU e-Evidence regulation also reaches providers not established in the Union that offer services there. Real protection is therefore architectural: what we cannot read, we cannot hand over in clear. That is why we never write “we will never hand over your data”.
The Saviano group
